Community Financial Feeds Families with #ThankfulThursdays
PLYMOUTH, Mich. (November 2021) – Community Financial will donate $60,000 to local food initiatives in November of 2021 with their annual giving campaign, #ThankfulThursdays.
November is National Gratitude Month and Community Financial is so grateful for their members and the communities they serve. To help spread that gratitude, every Thursday during the month of November, Community Financial will make donations to local food initiatives to help feed Michigan families.
In Michigan, 1 in 8 people face food insecurity. This number makes up an astounding 1,299,020 people who face hunger in Michigan each day. With #ThankfulThursdays, Community Financial partners with charitable organizations to help put food on the table for Michigan families just like you.
This year, donation recipients include: Open Door Ministry of Canton, Community Sharing of Lewiston, Northville Civic Concern, Gleaners Food Bank of Michigan, Hospitality House, Otsego Food Pantry, Blessings in a Backpack, Novi Feed the Need, Backpack Lunch Program of Hillman Community Schools, Calvary Episcopal Church in Hillman, The Caring Place, and The Salvation Army of Westland, Plymouth, and Alpena.
“We are so thankful to each of these organizations and the work they are doing,” said Manager/Community Relations, Natalie McLaughlin. “Families shouldn’t have to worry about how they’re going to put food on the table, and students shouldn’t have to learn on an empty stomach. #ThankfulThursdays allows us to push back against hunger in Michigan.”
